Travel has always been part of who I am. My first love was flying—the aircraft, the anticipation, and the excitement of arriving somewhere new. That passion became a career helping clients experience the world through journeys designed around their interests.
For more than 30 years, I have created highly personalized vacations, escorted groups to South Africa, and sailed on many of the world’s leading cruise lines. My particular passions are Africa, cruising, and journeys that combine culture, adventure, exceptional hotels, and a little time for shopping.
Some of my favorite destinations are South Africa, Botswana, Australia, Ireland, the Greek Islands, Croatia, and Istanbul—still my favorite city for shopping. What I value most is getting to know my clients and creating travel that feels personal, seamless, and entirely their own.
Doug Krumrey

Before joining PDK Travel, I spent 30 years in the insurance industry leading a ten-person department and managing complex, high-value business. That experience taught me to anticipate problems, organize countless details, and remain calm when plans change—skills I now bring to every client’s journey.
My role is to help make travel feel seamless. I look ahead for potential pitfalls, coordinate the moving pieces, and provide the practical support clients need to travel with confidence.
Africa remains my greatest travel passion. Patty and I escort a group there nearly every year, with South Africa, Botswana, and Victoria Falls among our favorite places. I am also drawn to Australia for its natural beauty and welcoming people, and to Turkey for its culture, food, and genuine hospitality.
My strongest destination knowledge includes Africa and South America, particularly Argentina, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, and Colombia. Among my most memorable travel moments are hearing the thunder of Victoria Falls and watching a cheetah calmly walk within a few feet of our safari vehicle—experiences that remind me why thoughtful travel can be so powerful.
